Full Schedule of Holiday Events Continues in Ocean City

Concerts, cookies walks, photos with Santa and carriage rides are among the highlights.

A full schedule of holiday events in Ocean City continues this weekend (Dec. 13 to 15) with concerts, carriage rides and photos with Santa.

Special events continue through the New Year. Here's a look at just some of the highlights:

FRIDAY, DEC. 13

OCHS Cookie Walk: The annual Ocean City High School Cookie Walk is set for 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the high school cafeteria, 501 Atlantic Ave. Come buy cookies by the pound. All proceeds benefit Community Food Bank of New Jersey.

OCHS Winter Choir Concert: Ocean City High School’s Winter Choir Concert will be held starting 7:30 p.m. at the Hughes Performing Arts Center, 501 Atlantic Ave. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for Students and Seniors. Public invited.

FRIDAY, DEC. 13 TO SUNDAY, DEC. 15

'Lights, Camera, Christmas': The Ocean City Theatre Company presents its 2013 Holiday Spectacular (see more information). This annual favorite returns with a movie themed production, “Come Rock Around the Christmas Tree.”

It features a cast of professional singers and dancers celebrating the season with a fully staged revue of songs from favorite holiday/winter movies. Program features high energy choreography, spectacular costumes, outstanding talent and a phenomenal set.

Shows are scheduled for the Music Pier, Dec.13 at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. Tickets $18 Reserved, $15, Children under 12. Call (609) 525-9300 or visit www.ocnj.us/boxoffice .

 

SATURDAY, DEC. 14

Live Nativity and Christmas Concert: The Live Nativity by the Youth of the Ocean City Tabernacle has been canceled due to threat of bad weather (it had been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14). The Tabernacle's annual Christmas Concert with the Angelus Chorus, Tapestry String Quartet and tenor Cody Austin with Dr. Richard Stanislaw conducting will go on at 4 p.m. (See more information.)

SUNDAY, DEC. 15

Breakfast With Santa: The American Legion Post 524 will provide Breakfast with Santa, 9-11:30 a.m. at American Legion Post 524, 3304 Bay Ave., All You Can Eat Pancakes, Eggs, Sausage, Potatoes, juice, milk and Coffee. $6, children under 12 free.

WEEKENDS THROUGH CHRISTMAS

Photos With Santa and Free Carriage Rides: Every Saturday and Sunday through Christmas there are free Carriage Rides, 9th and Asbury Ave. noon till 3 p.m. Also every Sat. and Sun. through the holiday there are photos with Santa in a Lifeboat at Music Pier, noon to 3 p.m., $10.  

SATURDAY, DEC. 21

A Fairy Tale Christmas Carol: Everyone’s classic holiday tale gets the fractured fairy-tale treatment. This fun-filled adaption stays true to the warmth and heart of the classic, featuring 3rd to 8th graders of the Ocean City Theatre Company. WEDNESDAY, DEC. 25

Free Christmas Buffet Dinner: All are welcome on December 25th at St. Peter’s Methodist Church, 8th and Central Ave. in Ocean City from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (take outs available). Free Parking. Transportation provided. Handicap Access. Call (609) 398-8781.
