The concert on the Ocean City Music Pier benefits VFW Post 6650.
UPDATE on Monday, July 2: Tickets are sold out for the "Beatlemania Now" show on the Ocean City Music Pier. __________ More than 40 years after the band broke up and long after the deaths of John Lennon and George Harrison, Ocean City residents and visitors will get a chance to see the Beatles come to life. "Beatlemania Now" comes to the Ocean City Music Pier at 8 p.m. July 2. For longer than the Beatles' own career, tribute bands have been impersonating them as part of "Beatlemania" shows that first premiered on Broadway in 1977. "Beatlemania Now" is among the best — with Scot Arch (Lennon), Chris Colon (Harrison), Eric Smith (Ringo Starr) and Davey Justice (Paul McCartney) making up the latest lineup. Character Night will be held every Sunday on the Boardwalk starting July 8.
Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia has its Phanatic, but the Ocean City Boardwalk has a parade of its own mascots — including a "Fry Guy" (Jilly's French Fry Factory) a break-dancing Swagstein (Cap Swag), the veteran Wonder Bear (who just celebrated his 83rd birthday at Gillian's Wonderland Pier) and the iconic Martin Z. Mollusk (City of Ocean City). The mischievous mascots will be teaming up on Sunday nights this summer as part of a new family theme night on the Boardwalk: Character Night. The event will be held every Sunday from July 8 to August 19. The fun will start in front of the Ocean City Music Pier at Moorlyn Terrace beginning at 7 p.m. About 13 characters will be hanging out to meet and greet boardwalk visitors. They'll be …

Seasonal trolley service in Ocean City will resume this summer on Saturday, June 30 — just as the island's population begins to swell with visitors streaming into town for the holiday week (July 4 falls on the following Wednesday). But Ocean City visitors will have a choice of only one route this summer: along the roads nearest to the beach and boardwalk. A second route that provided service to Ocean City's downtown shopping district for the past four years will not be offered this year. The service is run by the private Great American Trolley Co. but is subsidized by the Ocean City Tourism Development Commission as a way to offer public transportation at a time of year when streets are gridlocked and parking spaces filled. The Tourism …

Why isn't there a trolley/bus route to AC and SIC like the JItney? If there is STILL no BYOB option in OC then why can't there at least be a safe ride system.   more ›
