Exchange Club Honors Youth of the Month for March

Markel was recently listed on Ocean City High School's distinguished honor roll.

Exchange Club Hosts Miss Cape May County and Miss Cape Outstanding Teen

Lauren Fogarty and Madison Kennelly speak to the Ocean City service organization.

The Ocean City Exchange Club recently welcomed Miss Cape May County, Lauren Fogarty, whose platform is about the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), and Miss Cape May Outstanding Teen, Madison Kennelly (whose platform is about Pet Therapy). Fogarty is a law student at Villanova University and is the spokesperson for the South Jersey LLS Chapter. Kennelly is a student at Ocean City High School and enthusiastically speaks about her pet dog, Peanut, accompanying her on visits to the sick and elderly, bringing smiles to their faces through the charities Leashes of Love and Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs.

Miss New Jersey Visits the O.C. Exchange Club

The club donates $250 on her behalf to the Children's Miracle Network.

The Exchange Club hosted Lindsey Petrosh, Miss New Jersey 2012, at their dinner meeting at the Tuckahoe Inn on Monday, Oct. 8. Petrosh, an Egg Harbor City resident and graduate student at Rowan University, led the club in singing "God Bless America," spoke on her platform issue, volunteerism, and received a check from Exchange Club President Frank McCall, Treasurer Terry Grau and Dinner Host Curt Gronert toward The Children's Miracle Network. In her pursuit to become Miss America in January 2013, Lindsey raises contributions to this Miss America Foundation charity, and is sponsoring a 5K and 1 Mile walk for CMN in her hometown this Saturday.  See http://www.missnewjersey.net/  and  http://southjerseymultisport.com/event/miracle-mile-5k/

Freedom Gallery on Display at Community Center

The new gallery features paintings and replicas of historic documents.

The Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights are now on display at the Ocean City Community Cultural Center near the Ocean City Historical Museum. The gallery also includes prints of famous paintings, including Washington Crossing the Delaware. New Jersey’s first Freedom Gallery was dedicated last Monday and will remain to entertain and educate Community Center visitors. The new gallery is a joint effort of the Ocean City Free Public Library, Ocean City-Upper Township Rotary Club, Ocean City Home Bank and the Exchange Club of Ocean City.

Circus Comes to Seaville Aug. 8 and 9

The Ocean City Exchange Club presents two shows daily.

The Ocean City Exchange Club is bringing the Cole Brothers Circus to Route 9 in Seaville for two shows daily (4:30 and 7:30 p.m.) Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 8 and 9. The circus grounds are at mile marker 24 on Route 9 in the Seaville section of Upper Township  (1/2 mile north of Cedar Square Mall). The Cole Brothers Circus is billed as the largest traveling circus under the big top in the world (see history of the circus). Proceeds from the circus benefit the Oceean City Exchange Club's various charities.  The club raises money for student scholarships,  community projects and the national goal of preventing of child abuse. The Exchange Club has the gall to promote a circus that has been found guilty repeatedly for abusing their elephants to support projects for abused children. II am sure those children would never want animals abused on their behalf.   more ›
