March 1, 2013 Dear Friends, At the beginning of February, I posted a letter expressing the city’s concerns regarding FEMA’s new Advisory Base Flood Elevation maps. I wanted to provide an update on the city’s actions since early February. The city has now developed a specific customer-service team dedicated to assisting with questions about flood maps, FEMA and storm assistance. Beginning later next week, we will have an employee staffed during regular business hours to field questions and offer guidance, as well as a consultant, who is an engineer and planner, assisting with these calls.
