If this creep did sexually assault a child...or anyone for that matter....When he's caught, heRead More should be put in a room with three or four of the person's male relatives, a few ball bats and lock the door for 15 minutes! I bet he'd never touch another kid.

From the article: One person currently stuck in the broken system is Aakash Dalal, a former RutgersRead More student who is being held in Bergen County Jail on $4 million bail for his role in firebombing a synagogue 2 years ago. He's being accused of bombing ONE synagogue not 4 as some commenters are saying. Bombing one synagogue is a horrible crime and act of terrorism but let's at least get our facts right.

Eric Rudolph was a racist, anti-semetic, militant, twisted religious zealout, murdering psycopath,Read More not a "right wing fanatic." He was absent political bent.

Speedy trial? Define speedy. Charles Manson and company committed the Tate/LaBianca murders inRead More 1969. The trial wasn’t until two years later. It took over a year before Jack Ruby went on trial for shooting Oswald. And the entire nation saw him do that on TV. The infamous Boston Strangler was caught in early 1964 but wasn’t sentenced until 1967. Its only on Law & Order that it goes from commission of the crime to sentencing in an hour.

You say he has a gun, ma'am? CALL IN THE SEALS!!!!
Will Cochrane April 17, 2014 at 10:15 am
If our 4 americans in Benghazi had the OCPD on call they would still be alive.
Jim April 17, 2014 at 11:37 am
First you have to call.
vic April 16, 2014 at 12:33 am
in that incident several years ago, if I recall correctly, the suspect was already under arrest whenRead More he pulled out the gun. it was more a case of the suspect not being properly search after he was apprehended.
Richard Jacoby April 16, 2014 at 08:07 am
Perhaps they should have dropped a fire bomb on the roof and smoked him out. Hell maybe they shouldRead More handle every call this way, if the house has a gun in it. I totally forgot that in NJ it's illegal to own guns. I haven't seen any report that their was any threat made to authorities at all. The girlfriend said he threatened her and this is a common practice in domestic augments, because it's a sure fire way to get the guy arrested. It doesn't appear they ascertained the situation at all before going loco. Must be a slow winter for the cops. Unless the author is a horrible reporter, the only one brandishing of a weapon was law enforcement and they felt the need for automatic assault rifles. Basically, I could report that you or anyone else threaten me with a gun and the police wouldn't investigate. They would simply call in the militia. They had the guy in custody in a little over an hour after the first call. How much time does it take to mobilize county swat and hostage negotiators? Trust me, if the guy had made threats or brandished a weapon, the cops would have released that info. He was taken into custody without incident means exactly that.
Will Cochrane April 17, 2014 at 10:10 am
OCnjOC, that incident happened AT THE POLICE STATION because of an improper search. Coming into anyRead More home with an arrest warrant for a possibly armed suspect is going to have cops making sure they see hands. Your scenario would never happen if handcuffs and proper frisks were used. Still doesn't justify military tactics. Call the negotiators just in case? So if I have my music up too loud and a neighbor calls the police should I expect hostage negotiators? You know, just in case? He was the only one in the house! She left the residence and called the police from a neighbors house! It's pretty obvious that if he was violent he would not have let her leave or the incident would have been taking place at the neighbor's house or on the street. This is cut and dry a major show of force by a municipal PD. This should bother anyone who was alive to remember what a neighborhood police officer was 40 years ago.

Clean OC is that a reference to your job? are you a trash collector? If so, I commend you forRead More taking trash out of the cans and putting it in the truck good job!
Angela April 16, 2014 at 07:50 am
Wow. Kathy that was hurtful and rude. I hope those are not judgements you are trying to instill inRead More your students! Honestly this is the first time I've ever commented on Patch and it's been interesting. From now on I think I'll keep my opinions to myself! Have a good day everyone - be kind to each other.
Kathy O'Connor April 16, 2014 at 10:40 am
Angela - I think you are confused - you certainly are confused when you try and justify stealing byRead More saying small business owners don't have pensions and pay more taxes than anyone else (small business owners pay taxes on income, just like everyone else) I always try to instill kindness in my students but at the same time, I try to let them know to stand up for themselves against hypocritical phonies and that stealing is wrong and when you break the law, you have to pay a price - (don't worry I doubt Clean OC is a trash collector - it was a joke)

Beachin why even mention another restaurant by name... That's being an asshole
oceancity4 me April 5, 2014 at 09:13 pm
Beachin: That's a really broad statement, implying that all cash businesses should be worriedRead More because they have been skimming cash. I'm sure some have but I believe others have not. Singling out Piccini's by name is rude. Sounds like your faming their character.

The TMZ video I just watched showed what it looked like to be Ray Rice pulling his drunk fiance outRead More of an elevator. He may have been mad at her and had a fight with her but I doubt he had intent to severely harm her or I'm sure she would be in critical condition right now. I am not a football fan or a Ray Rice fan.... I'm just calling it like it is.

BTW, not for nothin, but did anyone notice that the New Brunswick Patch header is a pic of a trainRead More bridge with the saying "New Brunswick, the healthcare city" just above the headline One Dead, Three Injured by Body Parts in New Brunswick Train Accident. OMG, they are just too funny.

Lousy reporting. No mention whatsoever as to how or why they've charged this guy.
FIMF the ll March 26, 2014 at 05:36 pm
From NBC news: Middlesex County prosecutors said Timothy Puskas, 38, is being charged with murderRead More for the death of William McCaw, a 22-year-old Kean University student who was found Feb. 15 outside a New Brunswick home. He died of blunt force trauma, authorities said. Prosecutors did not elaborate on what allegedly happened between Puskas and McCaw, but a spokesman said the preliminary investigation indicated they did not know each other.
