Christmas Concert at Tabernacle Set for Saturday Afternoon

The Ocean City Tabernacle performs its annual free holiday concert at 4 p.m. Dec. 14.

The traditional Christmas Concert at the Ocean City Tabernacle will be performed 4 p.m. Saturday and will provide a warm gathering place on what likely will be a cold and rainy afternoon.

The annual event is scheduled for 4 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Tabernacle on the 500 block of Wesley Avenue.

The 70-voice choir of Angelus Chorus and summer Tab singers will be joined by Linwood's Tapestry String Quartet and guest soloist tenor Cody Austin (John Taylor's health prevented his travel and Cody is filling in).

The repertoire includes familiar carols, unique Christmas Spirituals, and Scripture readings. Admission is free.

The choir will be directed by Dr. Richard Stanislaw in his last official duty as president and CEO of the Tabernacle.

The live Nativity, which had been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Tabernacle, will be canceled due to the threat of inclement weather.
