Block Party On, Fireworks Off for the Weekend
Ocean City's annual Indian Summer Weekend is highlighted by an Oct. 12 Block Party.
On as scheduled: The annual Fall Block Party in Ocean City will "definitely" be held rain or shine 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 12), event organizers announced on Friday. See more on the Ocean City Fall Block Party.
On as scheduled: The Seafood Festival scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Oct. 12 to 14) at the Ocean City Music Pier also will be held rain or shine. Some vendor tables will be set up under the roof of the Music Pier loggia.
Canceled:The fireworks display that had been scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Saturday will be cancelled. Seas of 6 to 9 feet predicted for the weekend would prevent a barge from launching the fireworks display safely. There will be no rescheduled date.
The latest National Weather Service forecast (as of Friday morning) for Saturday: "Cloudy, with a high near 69. Breezy, with a northeast wind 18 to 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible."
