More Snow on the Way Tonight in Ocean City

The edge of a coastal storm will hit Ocean City on Tuesday night.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory in effect for Ocean City from 5 p.m. today (Tuesday, Jan. 28) through 5 a.m. Wednesday.

The edge of coastal storm moving up the Atlantic Ocean is expected to reach southern New Jersey Tuesday evening as air temperatures dip into the teens.

The storm is expected to bring 2 to 4 inches of snow to southeastern New Jersey, including Ocean City and Cape May County. Areas to the north and west are expected to see less accumulation.

Snow is expected to fall between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 3 a.m. Wednesday. If the storm takes a more westerly track, Ocean City possibly could see 3 to 6 inches of snow.

The weather advisory warns of dangerous travel conditions with icy roads due to temperatures well below freezing.

Tuesday night's low temperature is expected to be 13 degrees, and with north winds at 10 to 17 mph, the wind chill will be sub-zero.

Wednesday will see gradual clearing and a high of 25 degrees. The temperatures will climb slowly through the week. The high by Friday is expected to be 38 degrees.
