Brief Power Outages Planned for Areas of Ocean City on Tuesday

Atlantic City Electric will be doing work Tuesday morning to improve service.

The following public notice from Atlantic City Electric was posted on the city website on Monday:

Service Interruptions for October 15, 2013

Starting on October 15th, 2013, weather permitting, Atlantic City Electric will be interrupting electric service in 3 different areas in Ocean City for reliability improvements.  These interruptions will be for approximately 10 minutes starting at 9 a.m. and will be completed by 10 a.m. In the event of bad weather, work will be rescheduled the next clear working day.

The first service interruption will begin approximately at 9 a.m. including the following areas:

  • On West Avenue, east side of the street. from 5th to 11th Streets including Ocean City Primary School and the Ocean City Fire Department
  • On Asbury Avenue from 5th to North Streets Both East and West Sides of Streets
  • On 4th Street from Wesley to The Bay
  • On 5th Street From West Avenue to the Beach
  • From Atlantic to the Beach from 3rd to 5th Streets (excluding OCHS)

The next service interruption will include the following areas:

  • Between 9th and 10th Streets From West to Ocean Avenues
  • Alley between Asbury and Central from 8th to 10th Streets includes OC City Hall excluding OCPD

The final service interruption will include the following areas:

  • On Bay Avenue from 10th Street to Battersea including OC Visitor Center
  • On Battersea from the Bay to Atlantic Avenue
  • On Battersea to North Street including all of the Gardens including the OC-Longport Toll Plaza and Ocean City Yacht Club
  • On 10th Street Between Haven to the Bay Both Sides of the Street of Bay including OC Public Works Fleet Operations
