The city sponsors sand-sculpting competitions twice a summer and invites children and families to make memories and win prizes.

The contest on Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Sixth Street Beach in Ocean City was part of a day of family activities that also included the Miss Crustacean Hermit Crab Beauty Pageant and Hermit Crab Races.
