Jeeps to Invade Ocean City in New Summer Event

A new Father's Day Weekend event in Ocean City will bring hundreds of Jeeps to town for a rally June 14 to 16.

The first annual New Jersey Jeep Association (NJJA) "Jeep Invasion" will exhibit custom jeeps, trail rigs and feature vendors.

The schedule is 6 to 9 p.m. Friday (June 14) between Seventh and Ninth streets on Asbury Avenue; 10 a.m. to noon Saturday (June 15) at Shelter Road off Tennessee Ave. and 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (June 15) between Fifth and 14th streets on the Boardwalk.

The city features three other car shows during the year: the Antique Auto Show (June 22), the Street Rod Show (Sept. 6 to 8) and the Corvette Show (Sept. 22).

Event schedule is as follows:

Friday, June 14

• Pre-registration check-in begins at 6 p.m. Pre-registration will 
  take place at Stainton's, located at 810 Asbury Ave.
• 5:30 to 9 p.m.: Downtown Jeep Invasion, Ocean City (Asbury Ave). Streets will be closed to all traffic except for Jeep parking along Asbury Ave. (Free event)
• 6:00 p.m.: The Tidal Wave Band, kicking off the Ocean City New Jersey NJJA Jeep Invasion Friday night June 14th, playing in front of City Hall on Asbury Ave. So bring your chairs and get ready for a ROCKIN time! They are South Jersey's #1 party rock band playing all your party favorites, from the 60's to today, Jimmy Buffett, to The Beach Boys, The Tidal Wave Band has it all.  Ocean City New Jersey NJJA Jeep Invasion would like to thank Atlantic Auto Group, Dirtydog 4X4, and The Seaport Inn Motel for sponsoring the band on Friday night of the Jeep Invasion!

Saturday, June 15

• 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Line up at the Ocean City Soccer Complex 
• 12 p.m.: Parade to the boardwalk entrance via police escort. The parade will be lead by Miss Ocean City 2013 Devon Vanderslice. 10 AM - Boardwalk Vendors open.
• 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.: Jeep judging begins.
• 3 p.m.: Trophies are awarded. 
• 4 p.m.: Jeeps exit boardwalk.
• Night party: Yesterday's Bar/Restaurant Special food and drink prices for Jeep Invasion participants, bring your tickets!

Sunday, June 16

All day, Tuckohoe Brewing Company tours and BBQ (Free Event*)
Food will be provided by the County Beastro.
