Ocean City High School wrestlers Cooper Gallagher and Luke Demore return to action Wednesday night in their respective quests to become state champions.
The Region 8 tournament begins Wednesday night at Egg Harbor Township High School when the first round kicks off at 5 p.m.
First round winners advance to weekend action where they will join the top four seeds, who all receive first round byes.

The top three wrestlers in each weight class advance to the state championship tournament next weekend in Atlantic City.
Gallagher (33-1) opens competition in the 182-pound bracket against Clearview’s Gary Searle, according to pairings posted by The Press of Atlantic City.

Gallagher was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the District 32 tournament. He won his first individual title, and his win over St. Augustine’s James Bennett in the final was his 100th career victory, according to The Press.
Demore (28-6) opens the regional tournament in the 170-pound weight class against Woodstown’s Chad Watt (28-7), according to the pairings posted by The Press of Atlantic City.
The winner of that match faces undefeated Hammonton grappler Kellen Whitney (38-0) in the quarterfinals.
Demore was the No. 1 seed in the District 32 tournament. He advanced to the final round before falling to St. Augustine’s Jose Tabora, 10-4.
