Ocean City Swim Teams Set For The Playoffs

The girls' team was seeded No. 2, while the boys' team is the No. 4 seed.

After putting together championship campaigns during the regular season, both the Ocean City High School boys and girls swim teams are looking for something bigger.

The girls’ team was seeded second in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group B tournament, according to unofficial matchups posted on nj.com Friday afternoon.

Ocean City finished the regular season undefeated and won the Cape-Atlantic League championship with a dominant performance over a previously undefeated Mainland squad.

In the playoffs, Ocean City plays host to No. 7 Oakcrest in the first round. All first round meets must be completed by Feb. 6. The winner faces the winner of the meet between No. 3 Mainland and No. 6 GCIT.

Last season, Ocean City advanced to the semifinals of the playoffs before being eliminated by Haddonfield.

Haddonfield is the top seed in this year’s tournament, and hosts No. 8 Middle Township in the first round. No. 4 Moorestown and No. 5 Central Regional round out the field.

The boys’ team, which won the Cape-Atlantic League National Division title, is the No. 4 seed and hosts No. 5 Woodstown in the first round, according to nj.com. The winner faces either No. 1 Mainland or No. 8 Central Regional.

Haddonfield is No. 2 and hosts No. 7 Middle Township. No. 3 Moorestown and No. 6 Haddon Township round out the field.
