Ocean City Hawks Football Info Session Tonight and Saturday

The football and cheerleading program for kids ages 6 to 14 holds information sessions Wednesday evening and Saturday morning.

If your child lives in the Ocean City High School sending districts of Upper Township, Sea Isle City or Ocean City and would like additional information regarding the Ocean City Hawks Football and Cheerleading Association, stop by the OCYAA snack bar at 35th Street and Simpson Avenue 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, or 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11.

The Ocean City Hawks Junior Football and Cheerleading Association has announced they will join the Atlantic County Junior Football League (ACJFL), a weight-restricted tackle football league serving the youth of Atlantic County and South Jersey. The league is for children ages 6 to 14.

The Ocean City Hawks are one of the oldest youth football organizations in Cape May County and have been in existence in Ocean City since the early 1960s. The main objective of the Ocean City Hawks is to provide supervised football and cheerleading programs that are enjoyable, educational and challenging to the youth of Ocean City, Upper Township and Sea Isle City.

These objectives teach and promote the ideals of good sportsmanship, personal integrity and team cooperation through participation and instruction in the game of football and cheerleading.

Joining the weight restricted ACJFL creates a safe, consistent playing environment and avoids the vast weight differences of players found in other youth leagues in the immediate area. The Hawks believe this will increase the enjoyment of the players and help them expand an already thriving youth football and cheerleading organization.
