Ocean City Basketball Teams Learn Playoff Fates

The girls are No. 6 and host Westampton Tech in the first round. The boys are seeded No. 14.

With just two weeks to go before the start of the playoffs, the Ocean City High School basketball teams learned when and where they’ll start their playoff runs.

The girls are seeded sixth and host No. 11 Westampton Tech in the first round of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 playoffs on March 3 at 6 p.m., according to nj.com.

The winner faces the winner of the game between No. 3 Winslow and No. 14 Lacey.

Timber Creek is the No. 1 seed in the 16-team field.

Ocean City is 14-5 this season, with one game remaining at home against Bridgeton before the playoffs begin.

The boys are the 14th seed and visit No. 3 Toms River South on March 3 at 7 p.m., according to nj.com. The winner faces the winner of the game between No. 6 Hammonton and No. 11 Burlington Township.

Mainland is the No. 1 seed in the 16-team field.

The Red Raiders are 7-10 this season, and lost three consecutive games by one or two points after starting the season 2-2.

Ocean City hosts Vineland before wrapping up the regular season at Mainland and at Bridgeton.

Toms River South wrapped up its regular season on Feb. 13 with a 67-57 loss to Toms River North.
