Wrestler Cooper Gallagher will attempt to bring another state title to Ocean City when he goes to Atlantic City next weekend. Gallagher punched his ticket by winning the 182-pound title at the Region 8 tournament at Egg Harbor Township on Saturday, according to nj.com.

After defeating Clearview's Gary Searle in the quarterfinals, the top-seeded Gallagher (36-1) downed Vineland's Tiawahn Cosby (No. 5, 21-6) to reach the finals. Gallagher defeated St. Joseph (Hammonton)'s Christian LaFragola (No. 6, 34-3) in the finals with a last second takedown just before the conclusion of the first overtime period.

Gallagher added the Region 8 title to the District 32 title he won one week earlier at Absegami High School. He, Fragola and Delsea's Victor Defrance advanced to the state tournament.

The top three finishers in each weight class in each of the eight regions compete for state championships beginning Friday.
