Nor'easters Looking to Set up Host Family Community in Ocean City

Their season begins May 18, and their first home game is June 7.

The Ocean City Nor'easters soccer team is looking for host families for the 2014 squad, which they call a "large squad," according to the team's website.

"We are striving to create a new Host Family Community," the team posted on its website, adding they are offering a rewards program for families who volunteer to be part of the program.

The team posted the following on its site:

"Host families provide an integral role for all of our players assimilation into the Nor'easters culture and enables us to bring some of the best talent to the Shore this summer, May to August, as we prepare to defend our Eastern Conference Championship.

"Hosting a high level college player with the determination and ability to one day turn pro can be a fun and rewarding experience for the whole family. Even if you have no kids directly involved in the Nor'easters program, you can still enjoy hosting and donate your summer camp place to a young player of your choice.

"We are only looking for homes within Ocean City, NJ who are able to house players from May through to August, as we want our players to really enjoy the summer at the shore as well as being close by for practice, games and other logistical issues.

"To find out more about the Ocean City Nor'easters Host Family Community please contact Associate Head Coach Kevin Nuss on knuss@oceancityfc.com."

The team begins defense of its conference title May 18 at Long Island. The Nor'easters' home opener at Carey Stadium is June 7.
