Dan Pettit's First-Round Opponent Announced in State Wrestling
Ocean City senior to wrestle Bergen Catholic's James Dawson on Friday in Atlantic City.
Dan Pettit knows whom he will meet in his first match at the NJSIAA State Wrestling Championships.
The Ocean City High School senior will wrestle Bergen Catholic's James Dawson in the opening round, which begins at 5 p.m. Friday in Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall.
Pettit (30-4) won the District 32 145-pound title and finished second in the Region 8 Tournament on Feb. 26.

Dawson, a sophomore, is 16-9 and won Districts and finished third in Regions. The winner of the opening round will take on Willingboro's James Green, who finished second in the state last year at 140 pounds.
