The Manasquan School District has taken back a planned day off in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday to make up for the weather-forced cancelation of school on Jan. 3.

The school district had planned to give students Jan. 20 off for the federal holiday in celebration of the slain civil rights leader's birthday, but instead schools will hold a regular school day, according to the district website.

Students will still receive February 10-14 off for "Winter Recess,'' according to the site.

Some argue that the day is better spent for students who can learn more about Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and times.

How do you feel? Please vote in our poll or let us know in the comments.
