A Unique Fundraiser: A Weekend of Unlimited Fitness

The Ocean City Education Foundation sponsors the Ocean City Fitness Forum on Feb. 11 and 12.

 

A new type of fundraiser for the Ocean City Education Foundation will let people participate in as many health and fitness classes as they can cram into two days.

The Ocean City Fitness Forum is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 11 and 12, at the  and other venues throughout town. For $30, participants can try a range of activities—from adult fitness swimming to karate to yoga. The fee for students is $20, and discount for a family of four is $80.

The lineup includes a "who's who" among the some of the best-known instructors and athletes in Ocean City and allows participants to sample 18 different types of  fitness.

Local yoga instructor Michelle Whelan, wellness center owner , triathlete (and Primary School teacher) , Aquatics Center employee Lisa McGuigan and ocean swimmer are among the instructors. For a list of course descriptions, click on the first PDF above.

The event falls in mid-February and provides a great opportunity for the New Year's "resolutionaries" to keep up on their promises to get fit. It also allows people to try different disciplines of fitness. Each of the classes is offered regularly throughout the rest of the year in Ocean City.

Venues for the different classes in the Fitness Forum include: the , , , , , and the new downtown.

All proceeds benefit the Ocean City Education Foundation, a nonprofit group that raises money to provide extra educational opportunities for Ocean City School District students and the community.
