Ocean City Government Reorganizes Tuesday

The reorganization takes place at the music pier at noon.

Ocean City enters a new era on Tuesday, July 1 when a new councilman is sworn in and Mayor Jay Gillian is sworn in for another four-year term.

Peter Madden will join council Tuesday at Ocean City Council's Reorganization Meeting at the Music City Pier at noon.

Madden was elected to council in the spring elections. Michael Allegretto and Keith Hartzell were re-elected in the same elections, and will be sworn in to their next four year terms.

Gillian defeated challenger Ed Price in the spring mayoral election.

Nominations will also be taken for Council President and Council Vice President. Anthony Wilson is the current president and Allegretto is the current Council Vice President.

According to the agenda posted on the city's website, there will also be four appointments including:

* Councilman Antwan L. McClellan to the Ocean City Planning Board;

* Councilman Michael DeVlieger as Liaison to the Utility Advisory Commission;

* Allegretto to the Tourist Development Commission; and

* Allegretto to the Business and Neighborhood Development Association (B.A.N.D.)
