Mayor Gillian Talks About the City's Weekend Walks

The American Heart Association's walk, Miles for Melanoma and Walk to End Lupus Now are all this weekend.

Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian posted the following message on the city's website ahead of the weekend:

Dear Friends:

On Saturday, May 17, the American Heart Association’s” HeartWalk” takes place.  Registration begins at 9:00 am at the Sports and Civic Center at 6th and the Boardwalk.  The walk begins at 10:30 am.

Also on Saturday, the 5th annual “Miles for Melanoma” 5K run/walk will take place starting at the 34th Street beach.  Registration begins at 9:00 am.  This event raises funds to support research, education and advocacy for melanoma.

On Sunday, May 18, the “Walk to End Lupus Now” takes place.  This 2K or 4K walk on the boardwalk raises funds for Lupus research and educational programs while increasing awareness of the disease and those living with it.
