Two quick updates:

  1. Beach Easements: The City Solicitor continues to seek the required easement documents from some beachfront property owners.  These easements must be in place for a beachfill project and dune building to take place.  The areas of Ocean City where the dune system was the healthiest suffered the least damage during Hurricane Sandy and it is essential that this project move forward, especially in the southern portion of town.  If you are a beachfront property owner who has not yet provided the easement I ask you to please do so as soon as possible.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact City Solicitor Dottie McCrosson at (609) 399-0215.

  • Sandy Claims (not flood-related): The Governor’s Office has asked me to advise you that the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance has announced that residents with unresolved non-flood insurance claims related to Hurricane Sandy can have their cases mediated through the American Arbitration Association.  The program allows property owners to submit homeowner’s, auto and commercial property claims to a mediator who will review the case and assist in settlement discussions.  Further information can be found at:  www.adr.org , by phone at 855-366-9774 or via e-mail at njsandymediation@adr.org .

  • Enjoy your weekend!

    Warm regards,

    Jay A. Gillian
    Mayor
