CITY OF OCEAN CITY, NJ
Ocean City Post Storm Update: Monday Nov, 5th 5:00PM
With the approaching Nor’easter forecast for Wednesday into Thursday the City will be accelerating efforts to remove debris from the most flood prone areas west of West Avenue.
Additional heavy equipment will be in use and residents are advised to use caution driving or walking near this equipment.
The City is also requesting assistance with clearing storm drains of leaves and other debris. The City has limited resources at this time so we are asking if you are able to do so, please inspect and clear the storm drains in your neighborhood.
Sand removal operations are continuing on the East side of the island so please use caution in those areas as some traffic restrictions remain in place.
Please do not overfill or place materials around the dumpsters located throughout the City. If a dumpster if full, please take to the Shelter Road location or hold your materials for disposal until after the coming storm.
The City is continuing to sweep the island and remove trash and debris until a schedule is determined. The Shelter Road Recycling Center has extended hours from 7am to 5pm seven days a week until further notice. Dumpsters are for residents, property and business owners ONLY. Contractors CANNOT use dumpsters.
The driving curfew in Ocean City has been lifted however, we ask that you still use caution while driving at night as a number of traffic signals are still not functioning and many roadways are covered with sand and storm debris.
