Council Workshop on Public Safety Set for Thursday

The meeting starts at 4 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Ocean City Free Public Library.

City Council will hold a public workshop 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 14) to discuss public safety budgets and issues.

No official actions are taken at council workshops — instead they are devoted to gathering and sharing information, public input and planning. City Council and the city administration are in the early stages of creating a budget for the next fiscal year.

Public safety departments include the Ocean City Fire Department, Ocean City Police Department, Ocean City Beach Patrol and Ocean City Emergency Management.

The meeting is being held earlier than usual to avoid a conflict with the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce's Citizen of the Year and Business Beautification Awards scheduled for the same night.
