City Council Races in All Four Wards as Deadline Passes

The final lineup of candidates is set for the May 8 municipal election.

The deadline for candidates to submit petitions to run for City Council passed at 4 p.m. Monday (March 5), and there will be races in all four wards.

The municipal election on May 8 will decide the four ward seats on the seven-member City Council. Terms for the three at-large council members do not expire until 2014.

Candidates submitting petitions include the following:

FIRST WARD (all addresses north of the north side of Fourth Street)

SECOND WARD (south side of Fourth Street to north side of 12th Street)


 

 

THIRD WARD (south side of 12th Street to north side of 26th Street)

 

FOURTH WARD (all addresses south of the south side of 26th Street and the Ocean Reef community off Tennessee Avenue)



 

 

City Clerk Linda MacIntyre said Monday that all petitions have been verified, so the May 8 ballot should include the above candidates.
