UPDATE, 5:21 p.m.: Both alerts have expired.

A winter storm system moving through New Jersey has resulted in speed restrictions being put in place on the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway, according to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.

As of 8 a.m., there's a speed restriction in place on the entire length of the New Jersey Turnpike in both directions from the Delaware Memorial Bridge in Pennsville to the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 mph due to snow related activity.

As of 8:28 a.m., there's a speed restriction in place on the Garden State Parkway in both directions from south of Exit 117 in Hazlet to the New York State Line in Montvale. The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph due to road conditions.
