Two Charged With Drug Offenses After Traffic Stop

A pair of Bridgeton men were arrested during Night in Venice.

While the Night in Venice parties were just getting started on Saturday, another party came to an abrupt close for two Bridgeton men driving on Wesley Avenue.

Vaughn B. King, 24, and Brock A. Price, 25, were stopped by Patrolman Richard Wilent on the 1200 block of Wesley Avenue at 7:30 p.m. July 28, and the officer smelled what he suspected was marijuana and saw a lit cigarette, according to Capt. Steven Ang of the Ocean City Police Department.

The officer's suspicions led him to search the vehicle, and he discovered bags of suspected marijuana, pill capsules with a white powdery substance, a grinder and a scale, Ang said.

The men were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The men were transported to Cape May County Correctional Center.

Good catch Officer!

Wonder whose party they were going to attend?
Jersey Teapot-Party August 03, 2012 at 12:56 PM
Intent to distribute LOL. Those demonized drug dealers (really pot smoking peace lovers), Vaughn B. King, 24, and Brock A. Price, 25, will now be forced to sign every job application stating that they are criminal. Forcing them to the black market and a life of crime. Good job ruining the lives of young people. They should get a traffic ticket or something but a criminal record for weed! The punishment will not fit the non crime for peace loving pot smokers in the "land of the free" and the Nanny Jersey State.

Hey Jersey, sounds like you have some first hand experience here. Serves them right and serves you right as well if you got busted , They had a scale, for what, weighing out their personal stock? and what about the white powdery substance, I suppose sugar for the cookies? could it possibly be something else? Drug dealers are the scurge of society and I am glad the police got them. As an employer, my company see a lot of these types trying to lie to get a job. No morall character, no job.
Jersey Teapot-Party August 03, 2012 at 03:59 PM
Hey George: All your judgements about me are incorrect. If the white powdery substance was illegal they would have noted it! That is just added to scare people and you bought it. Not everybody that smokes pot has no moral character that's just silly ignorance. The people that have no moral character are the ones that use the law, force, etc to cause harm on others and deny equal rights to all. Why do we try to group peace loving pot smokers in with hardened violent criminals in our society? Why do we hate peace loving pot smokers so much that we punish them more and worse than rapists, thieves and murderers in this state? Cannabis is not the message, only the messenger, the question is whether we will support tyranny or freedom. The most basic right we have is the right to our own bodies and once we allow them to take that away we have tyranny, which many nanny state supporters love, we just disagree, doesn't make me a criminal because you want a nanny state that manufacturers criminals!!

If you read the article right it says possession of marijuana, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE, ( aka the white powdery substance which I believe was a schedule 1 drug)and possession with the intent to distribute ( the white powdery substance). So the moral of the story is this Officer took some bad guys off the street thanks for a job well done!!
Jersey Teapot-Party August 03, 2012 at 07:34 PM
Reason, what makes u reason the white powdery substance was a schedule 1 drug? Cannabis is the schedule 1 drug they are referring too not the white powdery substance that u appear to assume was illegal. Is that unlikely that kids that smoke pot would eat something with sugar on it that could have gotten in the cars? Must have been cocaine though right even though they weren't charged with it. If it was coke the cops would have tested it on the spot and charged them. They used the excuse to get access into the car.
Thevoiceofreason August 03, 2012 at 08:17 PM
Sorry i wrote the wrong schedule,But you sir are an idiot.drugs are illegal!!!! I heard it was meth not sugar cookies crumbs.
Al Czervik August 03, 2012 at 08:21 PM
Exactly. There are other white powdery drugs besides cocaine. A job well done to the officer, and Jersey Crackpot is back to the conspiracy theory drawing board with the tin foil helmet.

Reason: Thanks for the nice personal comments, why cant we be civil without name calling? Name calling often occurs when people know they are wrong and all they have left is name calling. You got the right schedule, if you referring to cannabis as a schedule 1 drug. If you were referring to cocaine or morphine they are schedule 2 drugs that have less punishment than cannabis. Cannabis is a controlled substance according to the state. You can read about it on the state's website. More harm is created by the busting of pot smokers than harm caused by the natural god created plant itself. A plant that is non toxic unlike the food we eat. When they make coffee and soda (which are more dangerous the pot) illegal are you going to argue in support of the nanny state too?
Al Czervik August 03, 2012 at 10:48 PM
Essentially, this fella is upset that two drug dealers got caught. Drug dealers who will sell to anyone, including children. End of discussion.
Jersey Teapot-Party August 04, 2012 at 12:35 AM
Al Czervik your exactly right! Thats' why are kids can get illegal drugs easier than they can get legal ones! When we prohibit something we attract the criminal element, and criminals don't care who they sell too, all they care is if your kid has cash. These laws and busts make our streets and kids less safe not safer.
Roy H Zehner August 04, 2012 at 01:20 PM
innocent till proven guilty...why are we making criminals out of good kids?
jimmy wildwood August 05, 2012 at 12:29 PM
Pretty sure they were headed to my place. We had a reggae theme and wanted to be authentic. We scored third best in our zone without them, but we had loads of munchies left over. Go figure. With that being said, no need to go soft. I've sent younger boys to the gas chamber...felt I owed it to them. Vaughn and Brock knew the risks but were too baked to care. Let's have a Fresca!
Roy H Zehner August 05, 2012 at 02:24 PM
lol...oh well, life goes on
