Two Arrested on Drug Charges After Motor Vehicle Stop

Police say they found cocaine and hypodermic syringes after pulling over a car Saturday night on Wesley Avenue.

A routine motor vehicle stop on the 800 block of Wesley Avenue at 10:28 p.m. Saturday took a turn for Officer Jen Barbato when she noticed what appeared to be two passengers attempting to hide things as she approached the car.

Barbato called for backup from a K-9 unit. While the K-9 "Deuce" sniffed for evidence outside the car, police say they found hypodermic syringes, cocaine, a glass pipe and prescription drugs on the inside.

The search resulted in the arrest of Patrick J. McCline, 38, of Egg Harbor Township, and Brandy P. Dodson, 35, of Ventnor on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe.
