Sirens at 10:30 Thursday Morning: 'Only a Test'

Ocean City will be testing its emergency broadcast system.

On Thursday, April 19, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Ocean City Office of Emergency Management in conjunction with the Ocean City Police Department will conduct a test of Ocean City's municipal "Emergency Broadcast Siren Notification System."

All (7) Siren locations will be tested individually with a brief PUBLIC ADDRESS ANNOUNCEMENT which will be as follows: 

"This is a test of the Ocean City Emergency Broadcast Notification System this is only a test."

The communications operator will verbalize this message twice through the Public Address system of each siren location. This concludes the test.

The system will be tested remotely several days before the test to ensure that individual siren configurations are correct. This test will be done by FEDERAL SIREN SYSTEM the vendor for the Emergency Broadcast Notification system.
