Police Arrest Man in Burglary at Bridge Boulevard Home

Jack R. Nixon, 24, of Ocean City, is accused of robbing an occupied home.

An alleged burglary in broad daylight at an occupied Bridge Boulevard home ended Tuesday with the arrest of a 24-year-old Ocean City man.

A woman called the Ocean City Police Department at 1:35 p.m. Aug. 2 to report that she found an unknown man in her home. When she confronted the suspect, he fled out the door leaving a bicycle in the side yard, according to Ocean City Police Capt. Steven Ang.

The woman described the suspect and pointed to the direction he fled, Ang said.

Several officers responded and set up around a perimeter surrounding the Bridge Boulevard home. Officers then began to check properties in the area and located the suspect hiding behind a property in the 200 block of Bay Road.

Jack R. Nixon, 24, of Ocean City, was taken into custody without incident, Ang said. The caller was able to identify the suspect as the person in her home, he said. Electronic equipment and jewelry items were missing from the home.

Nixon was charged with second-degree robbery. He was transported to the Cape May County Correctional Facility, where he is being held on $50,000 full cash bail.
