Operation Whitehouse Nets Millions in Heroin and Cocaine in Cape May and Cumberland Counties

Authorities seized between $10 and $15 million in heroin and about half a million dollars in cocaine.

A several months-long large-scale narcotics investigation resulted the seizure of between $10 and $15 million worth of heroin and about half a million dollars in cocaine, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor announced.

Authorities also seized an additional $225,000 in cash believed to be the direct proceeds of heroin-related drug distribution activity.

“Operation Whitehouse,” initiated by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force resulted in the arrests of 17 individuals and the execution of over 40 search warrants in Cape May and Cumberland counties.

The operation resulted in the seizure of 15 kilograms of heroin and two kilograms of cocaine.

The $225,000 cash potentially could have purchased almost 4 kilograms of heroin that will now not be distributed by these drug dealers.

The search warrants led to authorities seizing two properties, six horses, and numerous vehicles.  All items seized are subject to forfeiture depending upon ownership and equity evaluations.

The operation concluded on Tuesday.

Taylor commended the efforts of everyone involved and thanked Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security, the New Jersey State Police and all of the local law enforcement agencies that assisted in the investigation.
