UPDATE: One Person Critical After Dump Truck Goes off Parkway Bridge

The accident took place Friday afternoon, NBC 40 reports.

UPDATE: One unidentified person was in critical condition Friday night after his dump track went off the Great Egg Bridge in Upper Township, The Press of Atlantic City reports.

The southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway was closed for about a half hour as a result of the accident. Crews were on the scene were working to pull the truck from the water Friday night.

ORIGINAL: One person was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division with serious injuries after his dump truck went off the Great Egg Bridge in Upper Township Friday afternoon, NBC 40 reports.

He was conscious when he was rescued, according to the report.

According to New Jersey State Police, the southbound right lane is closed and all southbound lanes will close shortly as an investigation is conducted into the crash.

Police advise those going to Cape May to take Route 50. There will be major delays on the Parkway southbound north of the accident scene.
