Ocean City Police Find Late-Night Prowlers Are Workers on Job

Police respond to incident at Prudential Fox & Roach on 34th Street early on Thursday morning.

Ocean City police officers noticed people moving around in the dark in Prudential Fox & Roach building at 109 34th Street in the wee hours of Thursday morning (Nov. 7).

Nobody responded when police officers called out, so they brought in a K-9 unit that found four people hiding inside the building, according to a report from Capt. Steve Ang.

But the men were not burglars. They were lawfully in the building, hired to do work for Prudential Fox and Roach, Ang said. They were not authorized, however, to do after-hours construction, and they already had been warned at 10 p.m. about the city ordinance and construction hours.

All four were issued summonses for obstruction of justice, Ang said.
