Ocean City Police Assist in Crack Cocaine Arrest

A Wildwood man is accused of distributing crack cocaine.

The Ocean City Police Department assisted in the Tuesday arrest of a 66-year-old Wildwood man on charges of distributing crack cocaine.

A joint narcotics investigation by the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office and police departments in Ocean City and Wildwood resulted in the arrest of Walter Aubrey and the seizing of 80 bags of suspected crack cocaine worth more than $4,000.

Aubrey's car was also seized and may be forfeited.

Aubrey is being held in the Cape May County Correctional Facility on $75,000 cash bail. 

He is charged with possession of cocaine, distribution of cocaine and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school zone. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

In a news statement, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor thanked his Narcotics Task Force and the Ocean City and Wildwood police departments, and he vowed to continue multi-jurisdictional operations to target those involved in illegal drug activity in the county.

Aubrey was arrested in Ocean City, but the school zone he is charged with selling near is in a different municipality, according to the Prosecutor's Office.
