Ocean City Man Charged Following Domestic Dispute With Handgun Tuesday Morning

Robert L. Jones, 55, was charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.

The suspect who was apprehended following a domestic violence incident involving a handgun Tuesday morning has been charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats, according to the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.

Robert L. Jones, 55, was lodged in county jail on $30,000 bail.

He was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend in their apartment on the 200 West block of Bay Avenue. During the dispute, Jones allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a handgun.

His girlfriend managed to escape the situation and call 9-1-1. Members of the Ocean City Police Department and the County SWAT Team apprehended Jones without incident Tuesday morning.

During a subsequent search of his apartment, police recovered three handguns and seven rifles and shotguns.
