proved to be a great event for all on Tuesday, Aug. 2. From 6 to 9 p.m., visitors enjoyed games, bouncy rides, pony rides, face-painting, dunk tanks and great fun for free on the ball fields at Sixth Street and Haven Avenue.

The Ocean City Fire Department demonstrated how to cut into a car to rescue a trapped victim. The display brought in half the crowd, while the others enjoyed the festivites.

PBA Local No. 61 sponsored the event with the help of others. The purpose of the event was to bring the community together in efforts to keep the streets clean and safe. National Night Out, "America's Night Out Against Crime," was introduced in 1984. Last August, the event brought out 37 million people across the nation.
