Firefighters Extinguish Car Blaze on Haven Avenue

Firefighters are still investigating the cause of a fire in an unoccupied vehicle.

Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire in an unoccupied car on the 2200 block of Haven Avenue on Friday afternoon (Aug. 17).

The Ocean City Fire Department responded to a 3 p.m. call to find the interior of a two-door Chevrolet sedan on fire, according to Chief Chris Breunig. Firefighters smashed the window of the parked car and doused the fire before it could reach any other cars.

There were no injuries, but the vehicle suffered extensive damage.
