Firefighters Douse Landscaping Fire at 41st and Asbury

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the 4 p.m. fire.

The Ocean City Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that began about 4 p.m. today at 4060 Asbury Avenue.

Engine 3 from the 46th Street Station responded immediately to find a fire that had started in some dune grass landscaping in front of the home.

The duplex had cedar-shake siding, protecting the home from the flames. But firefighers reported that if the home had used vinyl siding, the fire could have been much more damaging, considering the wind conditions.

Engine 2 from the 29th Street Station also responded to the scene. No one was injured, and the department is still looking into the cause of this fire.
