Fire Damages Unit at Bay Club in Ocean City

Officials are still investigating the cause of the blaze.

A third-floor unit at the Bay Club condominiums on the bay between Third and Fourth streets suffered damage in a fire Monday, but nobody was injured.

The Ocean City Fire Department responded to a call about 1:40 p.m. Monday and found smoke pouring from the unit, according to Chief Chris Breunig. Firefighters were able to control the blaze.

The owners were not occupying the unit at the time of the fire, Breunig said, but contractors were working on the premises.
