Cape May County Man Admits to Transporting Underage Girl Across State Lines for Sex

Michael Kulick admitted to having sex with friend's 15-year-old daughter during a trip with the family in 2012.

A Cape May admitted to transporting an underage girl across state lines to engage in sexual activities, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced on Thursday.

Michael Kulick, 46, of Dennis Township, pleaded guilty to an information charging him with one count of transportation of a minor over state lines in order to engage in sexual activity.

Kulick faces a maximum potential penalty  of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and restitution for the victim, as well as at least five years of supervised release. Sentencing is scheduled for May 13.

Kulick admitted to have sex with a friend’s 15-year-old daughter during a trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania he took with the friend’s family in August of 2012, according to documents filed in the case and statements made in court. He and the girl had sex in a Pennsylvania hotel room, despite the fact that the man knew it was illegal in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
