Authorities Confirm Recovered Body is Philadelphia Teen

Ocean City Police confirmed the body recovered near the Longport Bridge on July 3 is Corinthian "Cory" Hammond NBC40 reports.

The 14-year-old Hammond, who is from Philadelphia, was reported missing on June 29. He was reported missing after swimming on the Ninth Street Beach in Ocean City.

The body was discovered by a boater at approximately 12:30 p.m. on July 3. The body was recovered on the Egg Harbor Township side of the bridge by the United States Coast Guard and the New Jersey Marine Police.

Hammond and others went swimming after lifeguards left for the day. That night 14 swimmers were rescued by the Ocean City Police, Fire Department and Lifeguards.
