SPEAK OUT: Give Peace A Chance

I have become painfully aware of the misuse of Memorial Day.

It has become a glorification of war. The government rushes into a  new war before taking care of the wounded and severely injured from the last war.

It has lost sight of the dead young soldiers on both sides as well as all the innocent children, men and women.
It is paving the way for endless wars and victims.

It claims lies as truth- they died for our freedom.
It makes words like Freedom meaningless as fugitive Edward Snowden shows.

America has criminalized the truth teller and rewards our Criminal pillars of society from the Nation's Capitol to small town USA.
We, the People, must restore Memorial Day for stopping the insanity of War, not promoting it.

"There is nothing the rabble fear more then Intelligence. If they understood what is truly terrifying, they would fear Ignorance"- Goethe

And BTW, please join us for Flag Raising at 0920 every morning on the Boardwalk in front of Boardwalk Adventure (formerly Gillian's Water Park) honoring all those who have given their lives in defense of our great nation.

Every Memorial Day the Ocean City ceremony includes the names of every Ocean City serviceman who has lost his life during time of conflict. In doing so, we remember the sacrifices of those who have died, the impact on their families, and the horror of war. For Dr. Fenichel to interpret this as a "glorification of war" signifies that he is possessed by his radicalism to the point of delusion. I would challenge him to identify which specific part of this ceremony represents a "glorification of war". It's these outlandish observations which make him a pariah in his own community.

Would a squadron of Fighter Jets flying over the OC boardwalk on Memorial Day qualify as glorification of War? Does not such actions diminish the ultimate sacrifices? If I had to choice of being part of the rabble or someone the rabble considered a pariah that is a no brainer. I'll be a rabble rouser every time!

Geez, ya really had to stretch for that one - a squadron of jets represents a "glorification of war" that "diminishes the ultimate sacrifice" only in your mind - I doubt that any normal thinking person would agree with you. You must really be thrilled that "The OC Patch" and the "The OC Daily" have given you yet another forum for your outlandish views. No need to respond - no one really cares what you think & you diminish the valid causes you support with your unfiltered comments, may of which we know that even you sometimes regret.

Looking forward to the time you regret your remarks. Long overdue.
