The Fast and the Furriest Turkey Trot

A 5-kilometer run/walk and 1-mile fun run for kids on Thanksgiving morning will benefit the Ocean City Humane Society and the Ocean City Police Department K-9 Unit.


The Fast and the Furriest Turkey Trot is a fun-filled family tradition for Thanksgiving morning on the Boardwalk in Ocean City. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Ocean City Music Pier, Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk. 


Race-day registration begins at 7 a.m.  Runners and walkers can pre-register at www.active.com.  Entries must be received by Nov. 19.  Applications are available at the Ocean City Community Center and the Humane Society or from the Humane Society website, www.HSOCNJ.org.

Cost to pre-register is $25 or $80 for a family of 4.  Race day registration is $30 or $90 for a family of 4.  Kid’s fun run is $10.


Race T-shirts for all pre-registered athletes and on race day while supplies last.  Awards for top three male and female overall, top three law enforcement and top three age-group winners.

Pre-race packet pickup will take place at the Humane Society, 1 Shelter Road, Ocean City from 4 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 21. All proceeds benefit the Ocean City K-9 unit and the Ocean City Humane Society.
