Congressional Candidate Bill Hughes Jr. to Speak in Ocean City on Wednesday

Bill Hughes Jr. will be guest speaker at the next meeting of the Ocean City Democratic Club at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at the Ocean City Free Public Library.

The public is invited to attend.

Hughes is seeking the Democratic nomination for the state’s 2nd Congressional District, a seat held by Republican Frank LoBiondo since 1994.

The club is expected to publicly endorse Hughes at the event.

Hughes, 46, is a Northfield resident and Atlantic City lawyer whose father served in the same Congressional seat from 1974 to 1995.

A primary election is scheduled for June 3 and the general election for the two-year seat is on Nov. 4.

Wednesday’s event will be held in the lecture hall at the library at 1735 Simpson Avenue.
