Xfinity Offers Free Wi-Fi in Ocean City for All of July

Hotspots set up all over town are offered as free for the month of July.

Comcast has set up Wi-Fi hot spots around town and is encouraging vacationers to sample the service for free.

Free Wi-Fi will be available at more than 30 spots in Ocean City, including parks, shopping areas and beaches. For the whole month of July, anyone is able to test out Xfinity for two 60-minute sessions.

The offer expires July 31 at midnight. Sessions are not carried over if cancelled before the 60 minutes is up, and only two are allowed. Xfinity subscribers can also access these Wi-Fi spots by logging in for no extra fee.

“If beachgoers can get online while walking the Boardwalk, we've hit the mark. It's a small summertime benefit we wanted to share,” said Jeff Alexander, spokesperson for Xfinity.

Wi-Fi hot spots in Ocean City are located on the map. To use these spots, log on to the computer and selected “xfinitywifi” under networks. Go onto the Internet and use the complimentary session.

"It’s a great way to show non-customers the value of our products—during a season when it comes in handy," Alexander said.

Users that are already customers of Xfinity, can log on and begin. To start service with Comcast, log on to comcast.com/wifi.

Wi-Fi service is also available free at any time at the Ocean City Free Public Library. Look for the "OCFPL" network, which provides guest access with no passwords required.
