Tow Trucks Race Tide Near Strathmere

State Police say they are still investigating what led someone to drive a moving van into the bay.

At 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, tow trucks are attempting to pull a 25-foot moving truck from a small beach across the channel from the Deauville Inn near Strathmere.

State Police from the Woodbine barracks are investigating what led the driver to leave the causeway between Ocean City and Strathmere — but, at this point, they have no idea.

A witness said a tow truck had trouble even navigating a crude and rocky road from the causeway down to the beach to reach the truck.
