Power Restored to Thousands in Ocean City and Upper Township

The cause of the outage on Tuesday morning remains unclear.

By noon Tuesday, power had been restored to thousands of homes in Ocean City and Upper Township. 

As of 11:30 a.m., 2,618 Atlantic City Electric customers in Ocean City and Upper Township were without power, according to the company's online outage map.

The outage was first reported at 10:10 a.m., and more than 4,000 were without power at one time this morning.

The site indicates that power was restored to all but five customers as of noon.

Atlantic City Electric is still investigating the cause of the outage, but it is equipment-related, according to Sandra May of the company's media relations department.
