There have been no issues related to drinking water in Ocean City as there are in some other shore communities.  This has been confirmed by New Jersey American Water.

The City is receiving guidance from the Cape May County Office of Emergency Management, in addition to assessing our local conditions.  The City is aggressively taking every measure possible to ensure public safety once the restrictions on access are removed.  The City is hopeful that this will take place at some point on Wednesday. Further information will be made available at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

City staff has spent the day removing debris, unclogging storm drain and outfall pipes and assessing storm damage throughout the island.

Ocean City schools will remain closed on Wednesday.

Halloween Trick-or-Treat for Wednesday has been postponed due to the likelihood that some neighborhoods will still require extensive clean up of debris.  The rescheduled date will be announced on Wednesday.
