Morning Island Report: Ocean Is 65, No Surf, Blue Skies

The waves, wind and weather at dawn on the beach and Boardwalk in Ocean City.

On Tuesday morning on the beach at St. Charles Place, the ocean is an (almost) comfortable 65 degrees. The surf is minimal. And a light southwest breeze is cooling off what promises to be a day with a high temperature in the 80s.

Without much wind to churn things up over the past couple days, the ocean is see-your-toes clear at many spots, and a longer swim yesterday showed no signs of jellyfish or other critters.

The best part of the forecast: no rain for at least a couple days.

Surf: Well, at least it's a chance to dry out the wetsuits, if you haven't put them away altogether. Tuesday brings another day of limp surf. There's not even a longboarder to be found on the north end this morning. We're looking at some ankle-biting waves, maybe a set that could jump up and get your knees. The southwest winds will pick up through the day and maybe create a few little bumps. Check the surf forecasts linked below for the long-term outlook. High tide is at 12:25 p.m.

Traffic: No issues today ... other than the ongoing construction in Somers Point.
